The World Bank in conjunction with the Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) of ACReSAL is holding a week long Hybrid Support Mission at the Abuja Continental Hotels.
In his remarks at the opening of the event, the National Project Coordinator (NPC) Mr. Abdulhamid Umar, said the mission was organized as a “Social Networking Opportunity” for the World Bank and the ACReSAL Project to interact with each other with the aim of providing solutions to challenges faced by participating states.
The NPC, while appreciating the World Bank for it’s support to the Project that led to successful missions across the Country said that during the Mission, states would give progress reports on work done thus far.
While delivering her remarks, the ACReSAL Project Task Team Leader (TTL), Dr. Joy Agene, said that the importance of the mission cannot be overemphasized, since the interaction between the Bank and the states was necessary for the purpose of providing technical guidance, considering that the states are the main implementers of the ACReSAL Project.
The TTL also said that missions such as this were necessary, at least twice every year.
Highlight of the opening was a presentation on the progress of ACReSAL since its inception.
There were sessions on Environmental Safeguards, as well as Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.
The 19 Northern states and the F.C.T are attending the Mission…
