Kogi State Government Distributes Clean Cook Stoves to Rural Women in Omigbo, Kabba – Trains Beneficiaries.

In continuation of its drive towards combating the menace of climate change and global warming, Kogi State Government, through the ACReSAL Project has again trained rural women in Omigbo, Kabba LGA, and distributed clean cook stoves to them.
Representing the Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto at the event, the Environmental Safeguard Officer, Mr. Samson Mopah Benu urged beneficiaries to appreciate the State’s humongous investment by putting the clean cook stoves to good use, whilst also reminding them of the health and environmental benefits inherent in the use of the clean cook stoves, some of which are – reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, reduction in exposure to smoke emanating from cooking with firewood, and reduced visits to the hospital.
On their part, the beneficiaries, who were evidently elated, assured the Project Coordinator that they would put the stoves to good use, as it was sure to better their lives.
Highlights of the event was the training of beneficiaries by the Consultant, which was followed by the presentation of the clean cook stoves to the rural women.
