Earlier today, February 8, 2024 the Project Coordinator, Kogi ACReSAL, Barr. (Dr.) Ladi Ahmed Jatto – OON paid courtesy calls on the Hon. Commissioners for Agriculture and Water Resources.
The Project Coordinator’s first stop was at the Office of the returning Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Timothy Ojoma, who automatically doubles as Co-Chairman, Kogi ACReSAL State Steering Committee (SSC).
While thanking the Commissioner for his support and cooperation in the last Administration in the State, the PC assured him of the SPMU’s continued collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, and hoped that the good working relationship which had begun in the last Administration would continue unabated.
On his part, the Hon. Commissioner thanked the PC for the visit, and also assured her of the Ministry’s support, especially in the area of support to Farmers, and provision of land for tree planting and other essential purposes, leading to the achievement of the PDO of the ACReSAL Project.
From the Ministry of Agriculture, the PC and her team moved to the Office of the newly appointed Hon. Commissioner of Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya M.D Farouk, who was evidently delighted at the visit.
The PC congratulated him on his appointment, and brought him up to speed with the activities of the Project thus far, whilst informing him of his automatic role as Co-Chairman, Kogi ACReSAL SSC.
The PC therefore sought the cooperation and support of the Commissioner and the Ministry of Water Resources, as their support would go a long way in ensuring the unfettered achievement of the ACReSAL PDO.
On his part, the Hon. Commissioner for Water Resources assured the PC of 100% support of the Ministry. He added that he eagerly looked forward to a cordial and fruitful working relationship with the ACReSAL Project.
Highlights of the visits included the handing over of the Project’s PIM to the Hon. Commissioners, as well as roll-up banners depicting the Project’s PDO, and Delineation of Areas of Intervention in the State.
