His Excellency, The Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo on the 26th of July, 2025 inspected the ongoing Erosion Control Project at Olubojo, Kogi East Senatorial District, Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State in company of the Deputy Governor, Elder Joel Salifu, Co-Chair of the Project, Hon. Timothy Ojomah who doubles as the Commissioner for Agriculture and other government functionaries.
The inspection underscores His Excellency’s commitment to infrastructure and environmental development across the State.
The inspection is aimed as assessing the quality of work done so far, along with its milestones based on delivery timeline.
The Governor, led by the State Project Coordinator of Kogi ACReSAL, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto OON, toured the extensive intervention site, expressing satisfaction with the high-quality work and evident stabilization in previously erosion-prone areas. He advised contractors to maintain standards, emphasizing that the resources utilized are a loan, not a grant.
Speaking to the community, in his words, “Erosion control projects are not just about infrastructure, but also about protecting lives, livelihoods, and restoring the dignity of our communities.”; he assured that the Government would continue in its efforts until all identified erosion sites across the State receive adequate attention and funding.
Expressing gratitude, he thanked President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for approving Kogi State’s participation in the ACReSAL Project, and the World Bank for the collaboration and technical support, which is positively impacting lives.
