Today’s sessions, were as ever, very enlightening… Emphasis was made by Prof. Harsh & KIDS on the importance of “disruptive technology” in ensuring the success of the ACReSAL Project.
During the Engineering session, emphasis was placed on the need to engage world class Engineering Design and Supervision Firms by PMUs, considering that the Engineering team of the World Bank is not expected to dissipate too much energy on fixing the shortcomings of poorly prepared Engineering Designs.
The Procurement breakaway session took a “deep dive” into issues bordering on Document Upload and Resolution of Special Cases in STEP. Procurement Officers, and Contract Managers were clearly delighted with the session, as it triggered a lot of questions, which had been begging for answers, and Nikolai, the African Regional STEP champion was on hand to do justice to their queries…
Highlights of the day’s Mission engagements was the discussion on “Agreed Actions”, where the TTL sought to ensure that the Bank team, FPMU, and Participating States are on the same page with respect to critical actions to be taken, as well as the timelines for the agreed actions.
