BPSR honours Kogi ACReSAL coordinator Jatto with distinguished service national award

The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Presidency, has conferred the distinguished public service award for institutional performance and service delivery on Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, the Kogi State Coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project.

The award was presented on June 23, 2026, at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, as part of activities marking the United Nations Public Service Day.

A statement by the Director General of BPSR, D.I. Arabi, said Jatto was selected through a rigorous merit-based process involving stakeholder nominations and independent performance reviews. She emerged from a highly competitive pool of Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies within her geopolitical zone.

Jatto, who was conferred with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, dedicated the latest recognition to her team at the Kogi ACReSAL project and the people of Kogi State.

“This award belongs to every member of the Kogi ACReSAL team who works tirelessly to ensure our interventions reach the farmers, communities, and vulnerable groups we serve,” she said. “It will further inspire us to deepen reforms and improve service delivery for greater impact.”

She also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his administration’s support for the ACReSAL project, noting that the Governor’s commitment to environmental resilience and rural development created the enabling environment for the project’s successes.

Before her current role, Jatto served as Kogi State Coordinator of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), Special Adviser on Environment and Physical Development to the Kogi State Government, and Special Adviser on Multilateral and Donor Agency to the Kogi State Government.

Under her leadership, the Kogi ACReSAL project has implemented watershed management, land restoration, and community climate adaptation projects across the state, earning positive references from the World Bank and other international development partners.

Stakeholders at the event described Jatto’s leadership as exemplary, reinforcing Kogi State’s growing reputation for excellence in public service delivery.
