Today is Day 3 of the ongoing ACReSAL Work Plan Exchange/ Study Tour to Senegal. Today’s activities were mainly technical in nature; ideas were exchanged with the Host Country, and it offered an opportunity for sharing experiences.
ACReSAL Nigeria is currently on a week-long Work Plan Exchange/ Study Tour to Senegal comprising 46 participants from the 20 ACReSAL participating states and the FCT.
The itinerary for Day one of the ongoing study tour was a visit to a 1000ha Community Natural Reserve at Koyli-Alpha; this amazing Reserve is protected through the Action Against Desertification (AAD) Project, which involves large scale land preparation program through extensive planting of local tree species and fodder grass, and the introduction of wild life.
Day 2 saw the team paying a visit to the National Program for Forest Seeds office (PRONASEF); an Institution established to produce indigenous seeds for the restoration of the Great Green Wall. It is hoped that the Study Tour will equip participants with the much needed knowledge to tackle the myriad of environmental challenges plaguing most states in Nigeria.
