During the visit, the leader of the team, Mr. Andy Seglah, a Livelihood expert with the World Bank, said he was delighted with the synergy between the State Government and the ACReSAL Project. He however emphasized that a sustainable collaboration through the provision of Extension workers by the Ministry, who will work closely with communities on knowledge sharing and transfer, will go a long way in ensuring impactful outreach, and Project sustainability.
According to him, this will also strengthen the current Land Restoration efforts of the ACReSAL Project.
Speaking further, he said a collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture, Kogi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Project (L-PRESS) and ACReSAL, will be a model to showcase.
While welcoming the team on behalf of the State Government, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Timothy Ojoma, expressed delight, commending the team for its high level of dedication to duty, even during a festive season.
According to the Commissioner, Kogi ACReSAL is a pivotal contributor to the mandate of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in ensuring food sufficiency in the State.
Hon. Timothy Ojoma further appreciated Kogi ACReSAL for training students on Climate Smart Agriculture and the establishment of Green Houses across the State, emphasizing that it is highly beneficial for the State as, previously, funds had been expended sending students to neighboring states to acquire knowledge.
