Kogi State ACReSAL PMU played host to a joint meeting of the State Steering and Technical Committees.

Commissioners for Environment, Agric and Water Resources, members of the SSC, as well as members of the STC were all in attendance.
The meeting, which focused on the 2023 Work Plan, was Chaired by the Hon. Commissioner for Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye, who was flanked by his Co-chairmen – Hon. David Apeh, and Hon. Abdulmumin Danga, Hon. Commissioners of Agriculture and Water Resources respectively.
Delivering his opening remarks, the Hon. Commissioner for Environment welcomed members to the Joint session; urging them to be attentive, and equally participate actively, as it was an interactive session. He added that, he was forever thankful to His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, whose unwavering support was responsible for the success of the just concluded NEWMAP Project in the State; and that he had no doubt that the ACReSAL Project will do better, owing to the continued support of His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State.
The Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto , who also doubles as the Secretary of both Committees gave an overview of the Project, as a way of bringing new members up to speed in respect of the Project Development Objective (PDO).
In addition to the presentation on the Project Overview, the Project Coordinator also brought members up to speed on the activities embedded in the Cleared Work Plan, as well as give an insight into what the PMU has been able to achieve thus far.
In concluding, just like the Chairman of the SSC, she was also full of praise for His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for his support, which has been demonstrated in the prompt release of Counterpart Fund for the smooth running of the ACReSAL Project in the State.
On her part, the M & E Officer, Rakiya M. Aliyu shed more light on the PDO & PROJECT PERFORMANCE INDICATORS…
Following the M &E Officer’s presentation, Committee members appreciated the connection between the Work Plan, Project Development Objective, as well as the Performance Indicators, which tells whether a PMU is succeeding or failing.
As earlier advised by the Chairman, SSC, Committee members freely sought clarification on areas of concern; while the Hon. Commissioners for Environment, Agric and Water Resources, as well as the Project Coordinator and her team were on hand to shed light on the issues of concern.
The meeting came to an end with the Hon. Commissioner for Environment, thanking the Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto for being a good host, whilst equally urging her and her team never to rest on their oars. He equally admonished Committee members to always be supportive of the Project, as it’s success would be the collective success of all concerned.
